Wintry weather Saturday night left more than 900 homes without power or heat Sunday morning.
Some residents chose to make the best of the situation by spending time with family and trying to stay warm anyway they could.
?We made a fire, played some board games and came down for some hot chocolate and coffee,? Marnie Miller, a New Canaan resident, said.
Miller and her three daughters also braved the slushy roads to head over to the Country Cupboard restaurant. Due to the weather, Miller and her daughters were the only people in the restaurant.
?Usually, in here, we?re full,? said Country Cupboard employee Yassin Ali. ?But today nobody?s coming out.?
Sisters Emily and Alyssa Malner spent the day sledding, while dad Don gathered wood so his daughters could come into a warm house. However, Don Malner made alternate plans for Sunday evening.
?Grandma?s is not very far and she has [power], so, dinner?s at Grandma?s tonight,? he said.
People in Norwalk and Greenwich also suffered power outages. Connecticut Light and Power Company says it has been restoring power to those who were without it all day.
