A Bridgeport woman who lost her leg to diabetes says a recent round of state and federal budget cuts have prevented her from getting a prosthetic leg that fits.
Jeri Holloway, 51, had her right leg amputated below the knee due to complications from diabetes in 2013.
She was a beautician and a small business owner who became disabled as a result of the amputation and kidney failure.
Holloway was given a prosthetic leg at the time but says her condition has caused her to lose more than 50 pounds and now her prosthetic no longer fits.
State and federal budget cuts left her unable to receive a new prosthetic.
Holloway says she has been turned down time and again, even though her current prosthetic causes her pain, and leaves her prone to falling.
