Woman caught on tape stealing clothes from Bronx laundromat
Police are looking for a woman who was caught on surveillance tape stealing clothes from a Bronx laundromat.
The victim says she left Elegant Laundromat for 20 minutes while her clothes were washing and when she returned they were gone. She says another woman took her clothes, which she says were worth more than $2,000.
Surveillance shows the woman walking into the laundromat on East 199th Street around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. She was pushing a cart and had a little boy with her. The tape shows her emptying the clothes into her cart with help from an employee.
Among the stolen items were five school uniforms. The victim says her children now have to borrow clothes from their friends for school.
The victim did file a police report. Police ask anyone with information to call them.
