Police say one of the two pedestrians struck by a hit-and-run driver in Stamford has died.
They say the victim who died is a 56-year-old Stamford woman.
Officials say the hit-and-run happened on Tresser Boulevard near Greenwich Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday.
They say the woman was walking with her fiancé when a van hit them and didn't stop. The man survived and was expected to be released from Stamford Hospital.
Authorities say they are searching for a gray 1996 to 2002 Chevy Express or GMC Savana work van. They say the vehicle possibly has ladder racks and is missing a side-view mirror.
Police say they're using traffic cameras to try to track down the driver. They are also looking into whether the couple had the signal to cross.
A cash reward is being offered for information that will lead to the driver. Police are asking anyone with information to call them.
