WWII veteran Chuck Standard, from Greenwich, celebrates 95th birthday by skydiving
A local WWII veteran who just turned 95 years old celebrated his birthday by skydiving.
Chuck Standard, who was a Navy pilot during the war, says he wanted to do something fun to celebrate making it to 95. He says he saw an advertisement for skydiving while browsing the Internet and signed up for it right away.
Standard described the jump as "mundane" and said the hardest part was filling out the forms for it. Despite his review, he plans on doing it again next year.
The New York Mets also honored Standard last month for his military service.
