Gov. Ned Lamont is teaming up with the state's biggest companies to help find jobs for residents.

Bigelow Tea, located in Fairfield, is a family business they would like to see grow.

"We are having a hard time getting the people we need," said CEO Cindi Bigelow.

Bigelow is joining Connecticut's top CEOs to form the new Governor's Workforce Council.

Hospitals are also on board and are searching for health care workers.

Some high schoolers from Waterbury Career Academy are already training for jobs. Schools like Fairchild Wheeler in Bridgeport could also benefit from added career programs.

Bigelow hopes the council provides workers she can hire.

She and the other CEOs will meet with Lamont at his residence Monday.

The heads of NBC Sports and Indeed, both based on Stamford, are also on the Workforce Council.
