A Westhill High School student is in critical but stable condition this evening after a head-on dirt bike collision yesterday that killed his younger brother.
Neighbors say 14-year-old Kevin Bella was killed and his 16-year-old brother Brandon is in critical condition with a severe leg injury.
The collision happened in a wooded area off Long Ridge Road yesterday. Police say both boys were wearing helmets, riding pads and boots for protection.
Grief counselors spent the day at the Stamford Government Center to make themselves available to anyone needing help coping with this tragedy.
Cloonan Middle School Principal David Tate says his school is working with Westhill High School, where Brandon attends class, to raise money for the family.
Neighbors say the boys' father died suddenly just weeks ago.
