A Norwalk dance studio is celebrating 10 years in business.
Studio Arte Dance on Main Avenue was started by Jennifer Wiesner Ramos.
Wiesner Ramos' passion for dance started when she was 7.
"When my father took me to see a live performance of Alisia Alonzo, who was a Cuban icon, and since then I knew I was going to dedicate my life to dance," says Wiesner Ramos.
Wiesner Ramos immigrated to Connecticut from Ecuador, and her experience working with kids inspired her to start Studio Arte.
"I saw that necessity the kids had, the same struggles that I did when I was a student," says Wiesner Ramos.
The school offers classes in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and more.
"We're the only studio in our area that offers flamenco dancing, we also offer salsa for children," says Wiesner Ramos.
Wiesner Ramos tells News 12 the studio not only provides access to Hispanic culture but also a scholarship program to families.
