Police say they have arrested two suspects in the Christmas night shooting of Larry Paulk in Norwalk.
Norwalk Police Chief Harry Rilling says police arrested 24-year-old Don Wilson, of Bridgeport, late Wednesday night. According to police, Wilson is the man who pulled the trigger and killed Paulk.
Jason Gonzalez, of Stratford, was also arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder. He is charged with first-degree assault in Paulk?s death.
Police say Paulk, 51, was found fatally shot in the hallway of his mother?s apartment building at the Roodner Court public housing complex. Paulk is the brother of former world boxing champ Travis Simms. Family members say Paulk went into the hallway to ask the two suspects to stop smoking marijuana. Paulk?s family says when things escalated, he was shot in the chest.
Both suspects will be arraigned next week. Wilson's bail was set at $1.5 million bond. Meanwhile, Gonzalez was sentenced to 18 months for an unrelated drug possession charge.
