Two Bristol police officers killed in an ambush attack have been promoted ahead of their funerals this week.
Dustin DeMonte has been promoted to lieutenant, and Alex Hamzy was posthumously promoted to sergeant.
Meanwhile, Dunphy's Ice Cream is working with UnDone Salon to host a fundraiser for the fallen officers. They will be collecting monetary donations for the Bristol Police Heroes Fund, benefiting the families of the fallen officers.
They will also host a raffle fundraiser in honor of Sgt. Alex Lurato, the surviving officer who, with a gunshot wound in his leg, killed the suspect with a single shot.
