Bridgeport police say two people were hospitalized after a shooting early Saturday morning.

Investigators say that the shooting happened at around 2 p.m. at the corner of Crescent Avenue and William Street.

They say a 25-year-old man was shot in the foot and a 23-year-old woman was shot in the back and leg.

"The two gunshot victims are in stable condition and Bridgeport police officers are hot on the trail," says Brett Broesder, communications director and spokesperson for the city of Bridgeport. "We're also hoping for the public's assistance in finding the suspects in this case."

Police also say that a third victim, another 23-year-old woman, was apparently kicked in the head during the altercation.
