Bridgeport police say a man was arrested after he opened fire in public, sending innocent bystanders ducking for cover.
They say it happened around 11:15 p.m. Thursday when 32-year-old Jason Harrison began shooting his gun behind an apartment building on McKinley Avenue. Nobody was struck.
Police say another man returned fire, but was not charged because "he had a permit for his gun and was determined to be acting in self-defense."
Police say alcohol played a role in the incident.
(This version corrects that a second man who returned fire was not charged because police say his gun was permitted and he acted in self-defense.)
