Two people from New York are facing charges in an assault on a Ridgefield woman.
County police say the incident happened at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Pound Ridge Sunday afternoon.
They say the victim was walking on a trail when a couple with an unleashed dog came up behind her. She told the owners the dog should be leashed.
Officers say an argument ensued and that a 57-year-old woman attacked the victim, knocking her down and striking her in the head - causing a laceration. Her 66-year-old husband then allegedly smashed the victim's cell phone.
The victim was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center. Dawn Reich was charged with assault and Steven Reich was charged with criminal mischief. The Reichs are due in Pound Ridge Town Court on Nov. 20.
