Tashua Knolls and Tashua Glen golf courses reopened Tuesday after being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Golf Course Director Bobby Brown says they sold out of tee times with about 270 golfers expected to hit the links.
"We've been working with the PGA of America, the USGA, all the ally associations and the governor, and our First Selectman Vicki Tesoro, to get the golf course ready for the public," Brown says.
He says tee times are being spread out 15 minutes apart in an effort to remain cautious and to prevent gatherings of people.
He says those interested in playing can make tee times online or over the phone only.
The course is also not renting out equipment, and golfers must bring their own clubs and push carts.
Brown says today through Thursday is walking only, and then starting Friday golf carts will be available on a first come, first serve basis but customers are not allowed to share.
Brown says staff is also trying to encourage younger players to walk the course so that they can reserve the carts for older players.
The course has removed bunker rakes or tee markers, and flag sticks must not be touched.
Brown says it's also recommended that customers wear a mask at check-in as social distancing should be easy to maintain while golfing.
Management says the bathrooms at the course will also be sanitized every half hour and golf carts will be cleaned after each use.
