A few showers overnight; nice weather, elevated brush fire risk continues this weekend

A gas meter fire on Bishop Avenue displaced 20 residents in Bridgeport early Sunday morning, officials said.

Firefighters arrived just after midnight, turned off the gas meter, and extinguished the flames.

The Red Cross is assisting with relocation efforts for those affected.

The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the incident.
