'Paramount that motorists pay attention.' State police issue warning after fatal motorcycle crashes
Bridgeport police say one crash happened on Sunday and the other was on Tuesday.

State police have issued a warning to motorists following multiple fatal crashes in Connecticut over the past week.
"It's very paramount that motorists pay attention for motorcycles," says Trooper First Class Pedro Muniz. "They are a lot harder to see, especially in their blind spots, and they are smaller."
State police say a motorcycle rider died Saturday following a crash on I-95 north in Westport.
"The motorcycle rear-ended the vehicle in front and then collided onto the median," says Muniz.
A pair of deadly crashes then followed in Bridgeport.
The first crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Fairfield and Colorado avenues. Police say a 41-year-old Bridgeport man became pinned underneath a Toyota RAV4 after his motorcycle collided with the vehicle. The motorcyclist died at the hospital.

The second accident happened Tuesday. A vigil was held Wednesday for the 30-year-old motorcycle rider who Bridgeport police say was fatally struck by a jeep that was turning into a driveway.

Another accident happened Wednesday in Fairfield. Police say a motorcyclist seriously injured his leg crashing into a utility pole on Holland Hill Road.
As crash investigators continue to look into each case, state police had a message for both drivers of cars and riders of motorcycles.
"Pay extra attention to motorcycles, give them extra space. There's really no such thing as a fender-bender, especially when you rear-end a motorcycle. It can be fatal," says Muniz. "For riders, use extra caution. When you are going to make a turn, when you're crossing an intersection, make sure you double, triple check. And wear reflective tape."
Bridgeport police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crashes to contact them.
