Connecticut business leaders have some concerns about doing business in the state, according to a new survey.

A survey released Thursday by the Connecticut Business & Industry Association says labor shortages and the high cost of running a business are hampering Connecticut's economic growth.

Nearly half of those polled said the greatest obstacle to growth is a lack of skilled job applicants, while 91% said the cost of doing business is increasing.

Only 1 in 10 say the state's business climate is improving.

The news wasn't all bad - 76% of the executives surveyed said their companies turned a profit last year. That's the highest number since 2019.
