A vote on an electric car mandate in Connecticut is no longer happening Tuesday.

Gov. Lamont's office is taking the proposal off the table, for now, and says there's a lack of votes.

The Regulation Review Committee was supposed to take on a vote in the morning.

The proposal looks to make all new cars sales electric or plug-in hybrid, by the year 2035.That would exclude used cars.

Opponents have cited concerns with expenses, and limited charging stations.

The full legislature will now take this up next year.
