Some Stamford teachers in all three high schools held a short protest before class Tuesday morning over a plan to increase the number of classes high school teachers teach from five to six.
According to the Connecticut Education Association, the walk-in protests are pushing back “against the superintendent’s misguided plan to increase the number of classes teachers teach, from five to six, which will negatively impact teachers’ ability to serve their students.”
“The plan would leave teachers with less time to adequately prepare effective lesson plans or provide individualized attention to students at a time when they need it most,” according to the CEA release.
