Storm Team Meteorologist Jonathan Cubit visited third-grade students at Orange Avenue Elementary School in Milford on Wednesday.

Cubit also went live with the students during his weather forecasts.

As part of their STEM Lab curriculum, students have been learning about climate, weather and the job of of a meteorologist.

Teachers say learning about weather makes science fun.

"Of course the most extreme weather is the most excited. They have been learning about tornados about hurricanes and how it effects us. Also how it effects our coastline too. That's another extension of this unit where will see how those extreme weather occurrences can effect erosion on the coastline and different aspects of their life," says Deborah Rogers, STEM educator.

For the final project, students will create a structure to try to withstand a storm of their choosing.
