State Attorney General William Tong made a public service announcement warning residents of "dangerous products that look like common snack foods."
Connecticut law says cannabis products must be uniformly white and cannot look like similar products being sold without cannabis. They can only be sold in the regulated market with testing and other label and packing requirements.
In 2023, Tong began cracking down on cannabis products sold outside regulated dispensaries hoping to halt the sale of "edibles mimicking popular kids' snack foods, including Fritos, Skittles and Airheads."
Anyone who sees unsafe edible products is asked to report them.
