March Madness kicked off Barclays Center on Friday, with fans flocking to the arena to watch college basketball's finest teams face off in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Barclays Center was bustling with loud fans flying in from across the country to cheer teams including the Vermont Catamounts, Florida Atlantic Owls, Northwestern Wildcats, and Duke.

The Ahmadi family flew in from Vermont on Thursday and said coming to watch March Madness in person has become a family tradition.

"This is our fifth or sixth March Madness we have come to, as a family. It's a tradition at this point and, Vermont is a dynasty. We have to see them play," said Maddie Ahmadi.

Her father, Afi Ahmadi, cheered when he found out the Vermont Catamounts were scheduled to play at Barclays Center on Friday, "I was born in Brooklyn, so it's neat to be back in the city I was born. I was excited because when you pick for March Madness, you don't know where you're going to go. And when I found out it was Brooklyn, it was meant to be. I couldn't wait to get back here," Afi Ahmadi said.
