The WNBA and the NBA Board of Governors Wednesday approved the sale and relocation of the Connecticut Sun, the league announced.
The ownership will shift from the Mohegan Tribe to Tilman J. Fertitta. The team will relocate to Houston beginning with the 2027 season.
The league says the Mohegan Sun Arena will remain the team's home for the 2026 WNBA season. The team will host two regular season games at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford May 30 and July 2. The team will also play at TD Garden in Boston in August.
