Greenwich implements new leaf blower restrictions

The town said a first offense will get a warning and other offenses could cost from $100 to $249.

The town of Greenwich is implementing new leaf blower restrictions beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.

Town officials said leaf blowers can't be used between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. on weekdays.

On weekends and holidays, they can't be used between 3 p.m. and 9 a.m.

Commercial use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers in residential zones is prohibited on Sundays.

Only electric leaf blowers are permitted year-round.
