A roof caught on fire at home on Gregory Circle in Stratford Tuesday night.

It happened just before 8 p.m.

Firefighters received multiple calls reporting the roof was on fire and residents were trapped inside.

Over 22 firefighters along with two additional command staff worked to stop the fire from spreading.

Following a search, firefighters discovered all residents were able to self evacuate from the residence.

No one was injured.

The Stratford fire department is reminding residents to have working smoke detectors, regularly practice an escape plan, and call 911 as soon as you see smoke or fire.
