News 12 Meteorologist Jonathan Cubit visited students at Turn of River Middle School in Stamford Wednesday.

He spoke to the entire sixth grade class of over 200 students.

Students prepared questions and were excited to learn about Jonathan and the job of a meteorologist.

They also practiced giving weather reports.

"Weather impacts every aspect of your life from your safety to your activities and events. Your health and your mood are even effected by the weather. So, it's really important to teach them about things to look out for so they can properly prepare and plan out their day based on the weather," says science teacher Karoline Dimyan.

Dimyan says it's important to get students out of the classroom and find new ways to teach them about science.
