Officials: 2-car crash causes brush fire in Monroe
First responders say a Good Samaritan pulled the driver out of the burning car.

A two-car collision caused one of the vehicles to catch fire and caused a brush fire in Monroe Saturday night.
It happened on Purdy Hill and Teller roads.
First responders say a Good Samaritan pulled the driver out of the burning car.
No one was injured.
One person was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, but officials did not say if it was the person in the burning vehicle or someone in the other vehicle.
Good Samaritan Sean Wollenberg gave News 12 a statement. It says:
"I’m not sure what the events were leading up to the accident. However, my wife heard the accident happened and we both ran outside and saw the car up against the bush and stone wall. One of the first people on scene was trying to pull the driver door open. However due to the damage, both driver [and] side doors were damaged and unable to open. As we got closer, we could see the flames starting underneath the car in the front and the driver was screaming for help. He had managed to get the top half of his body out of the rear passenger side door, and I was able to assist in getting him the rest of the way out and off of the ground right before the flames overtook the rest of the car. It was a scary sight but glad both drivers are okay."
