State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, a constitutional scholar, told News 12 on Sunday that she has "deep concerns" about the "questionable legality" of President Donald Trump's decision to order airstrikes Saturday targeting three key nuclear facilities in Iran.
"The president shares powers with Congress when it comes to conflict and war, and the president did not consult Congress before ordering these airstrikes," Gadkar-Wilcox said.

"I do think it's very scary because this region is so unstable – and for us to be striking not knowing what the potential consequences of that will be, already knowing that it's going to impact at least some of the markets," she said.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal said he shares those concerns.
"The president must come to Congress and my hope is that this week, we will have a debate with a full explanation by the president, not just to Congress but to the American people, about the strategy. History teaches us that there are unintended consequences to American involvement in Middle East wars," Blumenthal said.
