Across Connecticut, there are more than 650 independent insurance brokers who are trained and certified by Access Health CT. They’re ready to help you — for free — with just about anything related to getting health or dental coverage. In fact, nearly half of the people who get health coverage through Access Health CT work with a broker.

What is a Broker?

A health insurance broker is a licensed professional who helps individuals and businesses find and enroll in health and dental coverage. Certified Independent brokers help customers understand health and dental coverage, including finding them the best options and getting them enrolled.Brokers certified by Access Health CT are committed to helping their communities and serving your needs. They’re non-biased about the coverage offered through us, so you won’t get a sales pitch. You’ll simply get free help choosing what works for you.

What can brokers help with?

Broker assistance is 100% free — in person or over the phone. Brokers can help you:

  • Understand the different coverage options available through Access Health CT so you can select what works best for you and your family.

  • Help you complete your application and submit required verification documents.

  • Explain how to use your coverage so you get the most benefit.

  • Be a helpful resource all year long — not just when you’re enrolling.

How can you find a broker?

To find and connect with a broker:

  1. Visit the Assistance Search page on AccessHealthCT.com.

  2. Check the “Certified Broker” option.

  3. Enter your ZIP Code, a range of how far you want to travel, and the language you wish your broker to speak (many are multilingual). Then hit “Search” and explore your results.

It’s worth contacting a broker even if there isn’t one located in your town. Brokers may have more than one office, travel to meet clients or be able to help you over the phone without any travel.View our video about how to find a broker.
