Police have charged a Derby man with arson following a fire behind a Connecticut pizza institution.

The Derby Fire Department says crews responded to the Roseland Apizza shop Thursday night and found a shed on fire. They were able to put out the blaze. No one was hurt.

Police say that Jose Guardiano is accused of starting that fire. They say that surveillance video shows Guardiano in the act.

Police say they later got a call about a suspicious person attempting to enter an apartment building. They say this was the same person seen in the security video – later identified as Guardino.

He faces several charges, including arson and criminal mischief.

Roseland Apizza was able to reopen on Friday afternoon.
