Man accused of impersonating an officer during traffic stop in Norwalk

Police say Julio Rodriguez De Jesus used red and blue lights on his car to pull someone over, then stayed inside his vehicle and drove off a few minutes later.

A man is accused of impersonating an officer during a traffic stop Friday near Ely Avenue in Norwalk.

Police say Julio Rodriguez De Jesus used red and blue lights on his car to pull someone over, then stayed inside his vehicle and drove off a few minutes later.

The driver called police. Officers say De Jesus was driving under the influence and found pills in his car.

He is due in court in two weeks.

Norwalk police are asking anyone to come forward if they were stopped by a man impersonating an officer.
