Today is the Pick of the Week in the Hudson Valley as we'll see temps rising towards May-like levels with comfortable levels of humidity, a mild breeze, and lots of sunshine throughout the day!
Even the morning hours are feeling more bearable than how they have felt the past several days. Everyone is starting off the day with temps above the freezing point of 32 degrees and will eventually top out with highs into the mid-60s! A breeze will pick up at times, especially in the afternoon hours.
Be mindful using anything with an open flame, especially north of I-84. The ground is "abnormally dry." Also, if you have allergy concerns, be mindful that tree pollen counts will be running high for today and tomorrow. They will drop down to moderate levels afterwards.
A weak cold front will pass by overnight tonight. It will bring an increase in cloud cover in the late evening hours with a chance of a passing shower to follow. Shower activity will be gone well before sunrise Saturday with a sunny day to come around for all. There will be breezy winds at times, and the air will be dry. This may increase concerns for fires to start and/or spread across the region. So, be mindful doing anything with an open flame and fully put out cigarettes.
Sunday will be a touch cooler, but after that, temps rise well above the average high of 57 degrees for early next week! Get ready to feel a June-like feeling by Tuesday as temps climb into the 80s! There will be a chance for showers increasing by the second half of the day. Monday even has a chance for a few passing showers as a few disturbances try to move into the Northeast.
