The Hunterdon County Prosecutors office announced Friday that a Clinton police officer has been charged with stalking and violating a domestic violence restraining order.
Officials say officer Joseph D. Pietraszewski, of Readington Township, was placed on administrative leave on March. 27 after making concerning comments to a co-worker regarding an ex-girlfriend.
The Hunterdon Prosecutors Office later met with the victim, who informed them that she had a temporary restraining order against Pietraszewski.
Detectives investigated the situation and found that he placed a tracking device on the victim’s vehicle. The county's SWAT team went on to arrest him without incident.
Pietraszewski is being held at the Warren County Jail awaiting a pretrial detention hearing set for April 15.
