A Valley Stream man accused of aggressively swerving his bicycle at multiple women in Arthur J. Hendrickson Park allegedly became violent with police during his arrest.

Authorities say 21-year-old Matthew Nunez swerved his bicycle at a 45-year-old roller skater in the Valley Stream park last Sunday, causing her to fall to the ground.

Fearing for her safety, she called the Nassau County police to make a report.

Then on Saturday, the woman returned to the park and saw the man swerving his bike at two elderly women.

She again called police, who found him at his home on Camdike Street.

While he was searched by officers, they allegedly recovered a switchblade knife.

Police say that while securing Nunez's seat-belt in a patrol car, he became combative and head-butted an officer.

The officer suffered a head contusion and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

He is charged with assault to a police officer, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal trespass.
