A former Bay Shore teacher convicted of sex abuse will be sentenced Monday.
The top two charges against Thomas Bernagozzi each carry sentences of up to 25 years in prison.
The 77-year-old was found guilty of five counts, including sodomy and sexual contact against a child.
The criminal case involved two victims who were 4 and 8 years old when the abuse began.
Dozens of more victims sued Bernagozzi in civil court.
Bernagozzi worked at Mary G. Clarkson and Gardner Manor Schools from 1970 to 2000.
