After a dry and sunny start to the week, rain will shake things up a bit for tomorrow. A cold front will close in on the area. Out ahead of it are gusty winds and rain. Showers will start during the late morning and early afternoon for western Connecticut. This means the morning commute will be dry, but the evening one won't be. About a quarter to half an inch of rain is likely with locally higher amounts in spots.

The clouds will build and thicken tonight, which will limit how much, if any, of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower we see. Temperatures will cool back into the upper 50s overnight. High temperatures on Wednesday will be cooler than today, with highs in the lower to middle 60s. Winds will stay gusty and out of the south until later Wednesday night. Gusts can go up to 30-35 mph.

The rain will clear before Thursday morning and the rest of the day, we will see some gradual clearing.

The next chance for rain will be Saturday. Right now, it looks like showers may start Friday night and then continue into Saturday, leaving Sunday dry for Mother's Day.
