Beautiful end to the work week, rain to start off Mother's Day Weekend

Rain returns, and it could be heavy this weekend but there is some good news for Mother's Day

Lingering showers from last night are tapering off this morning. Dry weather is expected by 7 a.m. with sunshine peeking out this morning. The rest of the work week looks great, but both Saturday and Sunday will feature some rain. The good news is, there will be a break from the rain and plenty of sunshine for Mother's Day. Here's a breakdown of your forecast.

Today: Morning clouds clear out

Light rain for early commuters tapers off by 7 a.m. Mostly sunny skies are expected for the rest of the day with a light wind from the NW at 10 mph and highs in the low 60s.

Tonight: A stray shower

It's mostly cloudy with a stray shower possible. Chilly with lows in the low to mid 40s.

Friday: Morning clouds, then some sun

It's a cool and mostly cloudy morning, but the afternoon looks great. highs in the low 60s.

Saturday: Rain expected

Skies will be overcast with on and off rain all day. Highs near 60-degrees.

Mother's Day: Nice to start, showers late

It's dry and sunny for most of the day and mild with highs in the 70s. Rain is expected after 6 p.m.

Next week: Cooler than average

High temperatures are only in the low to mid 60s for most of next week with overnight lows in the 40s. Rain is expected on Monday and showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
