Police: 1 dead following Stratford standoff that began as a mental health crisis

A man has died following an hours-long standoff at home on Claudia Drive in Stratford that initially began as a mental health crisis, police say.
Police responded to the home around 11:15 a.m. and part of the road was restricted while officers and the Special Response Team investigated. Police say there is no threat to the community.
Around 3:30 p.m., police began letting residents back into the area.
Police say an hour later, a man, who has not been identified, was found dead inside the home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
