The Heat Advisory has been expanded to cover the state in addition to the Air Quality Alert. High temperatures today will reach the upper 90s which could rival a 64-year-old temp record if we reach or exceed 98 degrees. Once we hit 90 today, it will officially be considered a heat wave.

It remains sunny and clear through tonight too where we hit highs back in the 90s again tomorrow ahead of heat busting thunderstorms that pass through the state later in the day. There is a chance these storms can be severe, but we are monitoring for now. Storms can fire as early as 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon and continue into the early evening where then clouds spread across the state and temperatures then fall.

Temps are cooler to finish the week - in the mid-to-upper 60s. It remains mostly cloudy through Memorial Day weekend with periods of showers, too. Clouds hold on for midweek next week with temperatures rebounding into the 80s.
