Police say a man is dead and another was injured after a Monday morning shooting in Flatlands.

Detectives say the 911 call for people having been shot at Xpress Laundromat near Utica Avenue and Avenue J came in around 8 a.m.

Officers found a 41-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. A 68-year-old man was grazed in the foot.

The 41-year-old was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The other man was in stable condition as of Monday evening.

Philip Denaud says he was inside at the time of the incident.

"I saw the victim. He was lying in the blood. He got shot in the head," Denaud said.

Witnesses told News 12 there were more than 10 people inside the laundromat at the time of the shooting. Denaud said he was hiding in the bathroom with five other people.

“I was washing my clothes and then the shots start[ed] coming. It was about five to six shots. Then we hit the floor and went into the bathroom and locked the door," Denaud said.

Laundromat manager Sufyan Alahmadi said video appears to show the victim was with a woman doing laundry and the chaos unfolded quickly.

“He came in, he shot and left the place in less than 10 seconds," Alahmadi said.

Police say no arrests have been made and there is no motive and no description of the shooter as of Monday afternoon.
