Two men were charged after police said they stole about $800 worth of used cooking oil from a Denville restaurant.
Denville police said officers stopped a vehicle around 7 a.m. May 22 on Route 46 West near St. Mary’s Place after observing several motor vehicle violations. During the stop, officers saw a large container of used cooking oil inside the vehicle.
Police said an investigation determined Jefferson Servil, 27, of Newark, and Kervens Alsas, 30, of Harrison, had stolen the oil from Hunan Taste on Bloomfield Avenue.
Both men were charged with theft by unlawful taking and released pending a future court appearance.
