Gov. Ned Lamont has activated the state’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol as a stretch of dangerously hot and humid weather is expected to hit the region. The order takes effect at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, and will remain in place until 6 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2026.

The protocol opens statewide cooling centers and coordinates state and local resources to protect residents during the heat wave. Anyone needing a place to cool down can locate a nearby center by visiting 211ct.org or calling 2-1-1.
