Milford native Ben James finishes 2 under on day one of the Travelers Championship
James battled through adversity on the back nine to finish 2 under. Although it wasn't the greatest way to end the day, James put himself in a good position for the rest of the weekend.

The first round of the Travelers Championship kicked off Thursday in Cromwell, with Milford native Ben James in the middle of the leaderboard.
James battled through adversity on the back nine to finish 2 under.
Although it wasn't the greatest way to end the day, James put himself in a good position for the rest of the weekend.
He says he could feel the energy from his friends, family and the rest of the hometown crowd.
"It was great, had an amazing day. Played some nice golf. It was funny, the only people I could hear were my high school buddies. I knew their voices, so it was awesome… amazing experience," he says.
James will tee off at 12:20 p.m. Friday for the second record.
