Two people were seriously injured following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Iranistan Avenue and Laurel Avenue Sunday evening.

Police say the collision happened around 6:39 p.m., when a 36-year-old Bridgeport man operating a motorcycle, with a 30-year-old passenger, was traveling southbound on Iranistan Avenue and collided with an SUV driven by a 24-year-old Ansonia resident.

Emergency crews arrived to find both men unresponsive on the sidewalk as firefighters provided immediate aid. They were transported by AMR to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where they were listed in critical but stable condition.

The SUV driver was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.

The scene was secured as the Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to examine the crash. The investigation remains ongoing through the department’s Traffic Division.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Tien Ngo at 203-576-7640.
