Blistering temperatures will continue once again for the holiday. The Fourth is no stranger to wicked heat. This holiday though is coming into its third consecutive day with afternoon highs at 100 degrees or hotter. THAT is unusual.

Severe storms are possible through tonight. The storms will be widely scattered.

The primary weather threat will be damaging winds. These storms possess a lot of lightning. So, while some neighborhoods may get drenched, nearby towns, while rain free could be affected by dangerous lightning.

If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Take the "celebrations" inside until the storms pass.
