Smoke from more than 800 wildfires in Canada continues to drift into our area with the help of the upper-level winds. Luckily, the effects won't be as bad or as severe as the wildfire episode back in June of 2023. You will notice the haze and will certainly be able to smell that smoky aroma periodically. The air quality levels could be harmful for those with severe breathing issues.

Smoky conditions will continue to drift across the state tonight. There is a small chance a very weak weather feature could spark a quick shower or an isolated thunderstorm. What this feature lacks in actual weather, it makes up for in ushering in drier air. This "front" lowers the humidity heading into Thursday.

It will still be on the very warm side Thursday, but without the smothering humidity, it won't "feel" as awful outside. What will be smothering is the wildfire smoke. If you are a person who suffers from breathing issues. Consider staying inside tomorrow. Air quality levels could be especially poor in the afternoon.

The weather remains storm-free until the weekend. Unfortunately, an organized wave of storms looks to affect the area on Saturday with on-and-off showers and storms for most of Saturday. Some of this unsettled weather will likely linger into the first half of Sunday, but I think the weather will begin to clear up just after lunchtime to salvage the second half of the day.
