Repeat sex offender sentenced after FBI finds more than 2,000 illegal images and videos
Federal prosecutors say 36-year-old Rudolph Girdhari was sentenced to 123 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release.

A Norwalk man previously convicted of a child pornography offense has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison after investigators found thousands of child sex abuse images and videos on his electronic devices.
Federal prosecutors say 36-year-old Rudolph Girdhari was sentenced to 123 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release.
According to court documents, Girdhari was convicted in Connecticut state court in 2012 of possession of child pornography in the second degree and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after two years, followed by 20 years of probation.
An FBI investigation in 2022 and 2023 determined that an email address linked to Girdhari was being used to access child pornography trading networks on the encrypted messaging platform Wickr.
In May 2024, investigators executed a search warrant at Girdhari's Norwalk residence and seized multiple electronic devices.
Authorities say a forensic review of the devices uncovered more than 2,000 images and videos depicting child sex abuse.
Girdhari has been detained since May 2024 after being arrested for violating his state probation.
He pleaded guilty in federal court in December 2025 to possession of child pornography.
The FBI investigated the case with assistance from the Office of Adult Probation and the Norwalk Police Department.
