Plea deal offered to CT woman accused of poisoning ex's wine, falsifying paternity tests

A plea deal has been extended to the former Ridgefield woman accused of trying to poison one ex and prevent another from proving paternity.
Kristen Hogan appeared in Danbury Superior Court Thursday where the prosecution made an offer that calls for her to spend at least 12 years in prison if she pleads guilty to one count of attempted murder and one count of perjury.
Hogan currently faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of interfering in one case, along with evidence tampering and three counts of perjury in another case.
Under the proposal, Hogan would receive 20 years suspended after serving 12 to 15 years, followed by five years of probation. She's due back in court Nov. 5 to accept or reject the offer.
Hogan has been on home confinement with GPS monitoring since posting a $1 million bond in October after she was arrested on charges of attempted murder and interfering. She's now pregnant and due shortly. In court Thursday, the judge agreed to a request that her ankle monitor can come temporarily for any upcoming medical needs.
Hogan is accused of trying to kill the father of her youngest child, with whom she was in the middle of a custody battle, in August of 2025. State police said she spiked an open bottle of wine at his home in Ridgefield with the chemical found in antifreeze, causing him to be hospitalized.
In December, Hogan turned herself in to police on a new arrest warrant for evidence tampering and three counts of perjury. The charges relate to a separate years-long legal fight in probate court with a man claiming to be the biological father of Hogan’s two other children. According to that warrant, Hogan is accused of providing false information in the paternity proceedings and sabotaging his efforts to prove paternity, including bringing her nephew rather than her own son to court-ordered DNA testing.
