Naked Connecticut man arrested at service area in Somers

A Connecticut man was arrested after New York State Police say they found him naked and showing signs of impairment at a service area in Somers.
Virgil J. Naveda, 56, of Darien, was taken into custody just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedford Service Area on southbound Interstate 684.
Investigators say a field sobriety test revealed that Naveda was under the influence.
Police say following his arrest, officers searched Naveda's vehicle, where they discovered 66 grams of gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), 9 grams of butanediol, 7 grams of meth and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
Police say Naveda faces two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, public lewdness and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
He was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Court and released on his own recognizance.
Naveda is expected to return to court on Wednesday.
