A New Haven organization is opening what it calls the nation's first rent-free housing village for educators, providing free housing for early childhood teachers.
The Friends Center for Children says the development will offer rent-free homes to eight early childhood educators.
Officials say the project is designed to support teachers and strengthen early childhood education by helping address the high cost of housing.
A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony are scheduled for tonight.
